Dan Young, President
Dan Young joined KDS Windsor in 2012 as a Project Engineer, coordinating schedules with crews and clients and spending time in the field commissioning equipment. During his tenure with KDS Windsor, Dan progressed through roles with increasing areas of responsibility, including his current role as President. Dan holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and has over thirty years of experience in electrical controls, engineering design, maintenance, and engineering management in various industries. Dan has extensive experience in continuous drying kilns and has commissioned dozens of kilns in the USA and Canada. Dan played a key role in advancing kiln controls, including controlling wood waste heat plants, managing wood fuel handling systems, and an industry-exclusive automatic push rate adjustment to moisture content in continuous drying kilns. KDS Windsor control systems are widely regarded as the best in the industry.
Based in Western North Carolina, Dan and his wife Keri grew up in the area and are proud to call North Carolina home. Dan’s vision for the future includes continuing to advance lumber drying technology, ensuring that KDS Windsor remains the industry leader, and harboring a workplace environment that attracts and keeps talented employees.
